Flea market and flower market on May 8th on the Place Charles de Gaulle in Braine
The Brocante de Braine is held every year on May 8th, a public holiday, on the Place Charles de Gaulle and its surroundings, in the heart of this small town in the Vesle valley, between Soissons and Reims. Organized by the City of Braine, this day combines a flea market and a flower market, allowing visitors to hunt for treasures while enjoying stalls of seasonal plants and flowers. The Foyer rural de Braine also participates in the organization of this friendly and spring event.
Every May 8th, the Place Charles de Gaulle in Braine hosts its annual flea market, combined with a spring flower market. This original concept, which combines treasure hunting and gardening, attracts visitors from all over the southern Soissonnais and the Vesle valley.
Braine is a small town in the Vesle valley, located halfway between Soissons and Reims. This town with a rich medieval past preserves the remains of its Saint-Yved Abbey, a masterpiece of early Gothic art, and its castle. The Place Charles de Gaulle, the commercial heart of the town, offers a pleasant setting for this day of flea market and flower market.
The combination of the flea market and the flower market is what makes this event unique. Treasure hunters browse stalls of furniture, tableware, trinkets, and collectibles, while gardening enthusiasts stop at the displays of plants, flowers, and shrubs offered by local horticulturists. The Foyer rural de Braine contributes to the festive atmosphere of this spring day.
