Annual flea market of the Sainte-Lizaigne festival committee, Place de la Vieille Église in Champagne berrichonne
Every September, the Sainte-Lizaigne festival committee organizes its annual flea market on the Place de la Vieille Église, in front of the village hall. From 7 AM to 6 PM, professional and private exhibitors offer furniture, trinkets, tableware, tools, clothing, books, and various other items. At lunchtime, a rustic meal with spit-roasted pig is served, making this day a true moment of Berrichonne conviviality.
Sainte-Lizaigne is a commune of about 1,100 inhabitants located a few kilometers northeast of Issoudun, in the heart of Champagne berrichonne. This region of large cereal plains and vineyards is dotted with villages with white stone houses. The festival committee, dynamically led, organizes throughout the year hikes, car boot sales, rustic meals, and dance evenings that maintain the social life of this rural town.
One of the particularities of the Sainte-Lizaigne flea market is the free spots for exhibitors, making it an accessible and popular event. Setup starts as early as 5:30 AM for early birds. Entry is free for visitors. A refreshment stand complements the food offerings.
