Bargain hunting on Sault's Esplanade at the heart of lavender season
In the middle of summer, Sault and its iconic Esplanade host a seasonal antiques and collectibles fair. At the foot of Mont Ventoux, 800 metres above sea level, this summer gathering brings together bargain hunters and visitors under the century-old plane trees of the Sault plateau, while the surrounding lavender fields begin to bloom.
The Esplanade of Sault is the beating heart of the lavender-plateau capital. Under the tall plane trees that shade its main alley, markets, festivals and major events have always taken place. Each summer, it hosts an antiques and collectibles fair that attracts local bargain hunters and specialised collectors.
Sault stands at nearly 800 metres, offering milder summer weather and memorable views of Mont Ventoux and the lavender fields. July is the perfect moment: the first purple blooms appear, Sault nougats and lavender ice creams return, and café terraces fill up.
