About Brocante of Masseret

The brocante and car boot sale of Masseret, nicknamed 'in the shade of the plane trees', is a major summer event in northern Corrèze, organized for over twenty-five years by the association Masseret Initiatives. Every first Sunday of August, the event takes over rue du Foirail and place du Champ de Foire, under the shade of the century-old plane trees of the village. From 8 am to 6 pm, private and professional exhibitors offer a wide selection of items in a friendly atmosphere, with drinks and light refreshments available on site. The 2026 edition will mark the 28th year of this event.

The Masseret Flea Market: Twenty-Eight Years Under the Plane Trees

Since 1999, the Masseret flea market and car boot sale has brought together bargain hunters and exhibitors every summer under the shade of the century-old plane trees lining rue du Foirail and place du Champ de Foire. Organized by the association Masseret Initiatives, this event has become over the years one of the unmissable summer gatherings in Corrèze, attracting a loyal crowd from all over the Limousin region.

The Shade of the Plane Trees: A Unique Setting

The charm of this flea market is largely due to its setting: the majestic plane trees of the village of Masseret form a green canopy above the stalls, offering welcome coolness in the height of summer. The alignment of exhibitors along rue du Foirail and on place du Champ de Foire creates a pleasant and shaded treasure hunt route, where one wanders among antique furniture, trinkets, tableware, books, clothes, and everyday objects.

Masseret Initiatives: Associative Dynamism

The association Masseret Initiatives is the driving force behind the cultural and festive life of the village. By organizing the flea market under the plane trees for over a quarter of a century, it contributes to the influence of Masseret and the conviviality of this commune located on the A20 motorway, between Limoges and Uzerche. Volunteers ensure the logistical organization, the reception of exhibitors, and the drinks and light refreshments that accompany visitors throughout the day.

Masseret, a Stopover Village Between Limousin and Corrèze

Perched on a hill overlooking the rolling landscape of northern Corrèze, Masseret is known for its panoramic tower offering a 360-degree view of the Limousin mountains. The village, crossed by the old national road 20, retains charming rural heritage with its church, granite houses, and flowery alleys. The flea market under the plane trees contributes to the summer animation of this dynamic commune.

Brocante of Masseret — edition 2026

The 28th brocante and car boot sale of Masseret will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2026, under the plane trees, rue du Foirail and place du Champ de Foire, from 8 am to 6 pm.
