Flea market, car boot sale and local producers' market in Essey-et-Maizerais
The village of Essey-et-Maizerais hosts an original event in May that brings together a flea market, a car boot sale, and a producers' market. With around 70 exhibitors, this event attracts bargain hunters and lovers of local products in a preserved rural setting in the north of Meurthe-et-Moselle.
The originality of Essey-et-Maizerais lies in the combination of three events in one. Second-hand dealers and individuals offer furniture, crockery, trinkets, books, and various objects, while local producers complete the offer with products from the Lorraine region: honey, jams, cheeses, cured meats, and seasonal vegetables. This formula attracts a diverse audience, from bargain hunters to foodies, including families.
Essey-et-Maizerais is a commune in the Pays de Haye, located northeast of Toul, in a landscape of wooded hills and agricultural land. The village, made up of two historic hamlets (Essey and Maizerais), retains the charm of rural Lorraine villages. Its location between the Haye forest and the Moselle valley makes it a popular spot for residents of the Nancy metropolitan area.
The presence of the producers' market gives this day a gourmet and festive dimension. Visitors can combine their morning bargain hunting with a tasting of local products before extending their stroll through the village streets. Refreshments and on-site catering complete the offer, making this event a complete outing for a day in the countryside in May.
