Annual car boot sale in the village of Busserolles, on the borders of Périgord Vert and Charente
Every first weekend of August, the village of Busserolles hosts its annual car boot sale. In this village located on the borders of Périgord Vert, a few kilometers from Charente, private sellers set up their stalls at dawn to offer crockery, trinkets, clothes, tools, books, and everyday items to early morning bargain hunters.
At only €1 per linear meter upon reservation, Busserolles offers one of the lowest prices in the region for occasional sellers. This accessibility attracts sellers from all over the Tardoire and Bandiat valleys, ensuring a varied selection and attractive prices for visitors. Entry is free for bargain hunters, who can stroll among the stalls set up in the village streets all day long.
Alongside the car boot sale, a mountain bike ride is organized with four routes of 15, 25, 35, and 45 km, with registrations starting at 8 am near the campsite. This combination of flea market and outdoor sport demonstrates the dynamism of the Busserolles volunteers and helps attract a diverse audience, from families to athletes and lovers of great finds.
Busserolles is a small commune of about 400 inhabitants located in the extreme north of Dordogne, on the border with Charente. This hilly and wooded area, crossed by the Bandiat river, is the heart of Périgord Vert, a land of hedgerows and chestnut forests. The village, with its church and granite houses, retains a preserved rural character that gives charm to these villages where community life remains strong.
