May 1st Flea Market in the village of Bruyères-et-Montbérault near Laon
The brocante of Bruyères-et-Montbérault is held every May 1st in this dynamic village located 10 kilometers south of Laon, on the Laonnois plateau. This annual event, which is part of the tradition of May 1st brocantes that are very lively in the Aisne department, attracts bargain hunters from Laon and the surrounding areas for a day of outdoor sales. Admission is free for visitors.
Every May 1st, the village of Bruyères-et-Montbérault hosts its annual flea market. Located about ten kilometers south of Laon, the prefecture of the Aisne department, this commune of about 1,500 inhabitants benefits from a strategic position on the Laonnois plateau, between the Laon hill and the Chemin des Dames.
Exhibitors set up in the village streets for a full day of car boot sale. You can find the classic offerings of country flea markets: crockery, trinkets, books, clothes, tools, and second-hand furniture. Free admission and the village atmosphere make this flea market a popular event for families and occasional bargain hunters.
The commune of Bruyères-et-Montbérault is located in a historically rich area. The Chemin des Dames, a major memorial site of the First World War, is a few kilometers to the south. The May 1st flea market contributes to the animation of this rural village which benefits from the proximity of the Laon agglomeration.
