The great Ambierle street fair, an unmissable July 14th event

Every year on the traditional date of July 14th, Ambierle hosts one of the largest street fairs and flea markets in the Roannais region. On Place du Château Gaillard and in the picturesque alleys of the medieval village, up to 480 pitches are occupied by professional second-hand dealers, antique dealers, collectors, private individuals clearing out attics and cellars, merchants, and artisans.

A true flea market in a heritage setting

As the organizers remind us, « the Ambierle street fair is a true flea market ». Antique furniture, trinkets, crockery, vintage clothing, decorative objects, books, vinyl records, postcards, stamps, and bric-a-brac are displayed against the backdrop of the Cluniac priory and the half-timbered houses of Forez. Exhibitor setup begins at 4 AM (with the possibility of arriving the evening before), for a day open to the public until late afternoon.
