The Bourse des Collectionneurs de Millau is an annual event organized every May by the Club Numismatique de l'Aveyron at the Salle des Fêtes du Parc de la Victoire. Since its first edition in 2007, this event has brought together around thirty exhibitors from the south of France to buy, sell, and exchange collectible items: old and modern coins, banknotes, medals, stamps, postcards, phone cards, specialized books, and model trains. Each edition also features a thematic exhibition related to numismatic and local history. Entry is free and open to all, from experienced collectors to curious passers-by in Millau.
Since 2007, the Bourse des Collectionneurs de Millau has established itself as a major event for collectors in the South of France. Organized by the Club Numismatique de l'Aveyron, this annual fair welcomes around thirty exhibitors every May at the Salle des Fêtes du Parc de la Victoire, on Avenue Charles de Gaulle, in the heart of the sub-prefecture of Aveyron.
The Club Numismatique de l'Aveyron, founded in 2004, brings together about fifteen members passionate about numismatics — old coins, banknotes, medals — who meet on the first Saturday of each month at the École Paul Bert in Millau. The organization of this annual fair is the highlight of their associative activities, and their expertise guarantees the quality and richness of the stands offered.
The Bourse des Collectionneurs de Millau stands out for the diversity of collecting areas represented. While numismatics remains at the heart of the event — with coins covering a period from antiquity to the present day — visitors can also discover and acquire:
Each edition is enhanced by a thematic exhibition prepared by the club members, highlighting an aspect of numismatic or local history related to the year's theme. These educational presentations allow novice visitors to discover the richness of numismatics and collecting in general.
Millau, a sub-prefecture of Aveyron, is a town of character nestled at the confluence of the Tarn and Dourbie rivers, in the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional des Grands Causses. Dominated since 2004 by the famous Viaduc de Millau, a masterpiece of engineering designed by Michel Virlogeux and Norman Foster, the town is a major tourist hub in Occitanie.
Rich in remarkable medieval heritage — its 12th-century belfry, its ancient streets, its lavoir de l'Ayrolle — Millau is also renowned for its centuries-old expertise in glove making and leatherwork. The Musée de Millau et des Grands Causses retraces this industrial and archaeological history, notably with collections of Gallo-Roman pottery from the La Graufesenque workshop, one of the largest centers for producing terra sigillata in the Roman Empire.
The Bourse des Collectionneurs is part of this cultural dynamic of Millau, offering visitors and tourists passing through an opportunity to discover heritage through collectible items, in a friendly and accessible atmosphere.
Entry to the Bourse des Collectionneurs is free, in line with the Club Numismatique de l'Aveyron's desire to make the event accessible to as many people as possible. From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., visitors can move freely between the stands, chat with passionate exhibitors, and enjoy the refreshment bar and light catering available on site.
The atmosphere of the fair is that of a gathering of enthusiasts: exchanges are rich, historical anecdotes abound around the items presented, and novices are welcomed with kindness by collectors always ready to share their knowledge. A special moment for lovers of beautiful items and history, in the pleasant setting of the Parc de la Victoire in Millau.
