A book fair in the heart of the Salanque

The Pezilla-la-Riviere Book Fair is a highly anticipated event for readers across the Pyrenees-Orientales. Organized by the Parents' Association (APE) of the village school, it takes place each spring at the Sports Hall of the Louis Blad Sports Complex on rue Forca Real. Over two days, thousands of second-hand books change hands, giving readers the opportunity to complete their libraries at unbeatable prices.

An impressive selection at low prices

Paperback novels, hardcovers, comics, manga, children's books, illustrated albums, art books, travel guides, cookbooks, practical books and even school textbooks: the fair offers a very wide selection for all ages and all tastes. Deliberately affordable prices encourage reading for pleasure and reuse. Every year, thousands of books are donated by families and put back into circulation in a spirit of ecology and solidarity.

A charitable event for the school

All proceeds from the fair go directly to the Pezilla-la-Riviere village school. The funds collected help finance educational outings, discovery classes, school supplies and cultural projects for students. Each year this charitable initiative mobilizes many volunteer parents who sort books, set up displays and run the event. A fine example of civic engagement in support of education.

Pezilla-la-Riviere, a wine-growing village of the Roussillon plain
