Browse in the shadow of Europe's oldest tumuli, in the heart of Deux-Sèvres
Each year in June, the village of Bougon hosts its flea market and garage sale at the village hall. The event brings together around forty-five exhibitors — private sellers and some professionals — who spread their wares in and around the hall, offering visitors a wide choice of antique objects, curiosities and everyday items at attractive prices.
Bougon owes its international fame to the Tumulus Museum, which houses one of Europe's oldest megalithic necropolises, dating from the fifth millennium BC. This exceptional site, owned by the Deux-Sèvres Department since 1873, attracts thousands of visitors passionate about archaeology and Prehistory each year.
The Bougon flea market offers a balanced mix of private garage sale items and more traditional antiques. You can find childhood toys and family crockery alongside country furniture, old books, trinkets and vintage decorative objects. Prices remain gentle, making it a popular event for families and bargain seekers.
