An APE vide-grenier in a new commune

Boivre-la-Vallée: new commune formed in 2019 by merging Lavausseau, Benassay, Montreuil-Bonnin and La Chapelle-Montreuil, all in the Boivre valley west of Poitiers. Rural Haut-Poitou commune in Grand Poitiers Urban Community, about 2,000 inhabitants, several schools preserved.

Boivre-la-Vallée APE runs its vide-grenier on Sunday 31 May 2026, annual rendezvous mobilising volunteer parents and local residents. Profits fund school activities: trips, pedagogical projects, materials, shows. A nice way to support schooling of the new commune's children.

Boivre-la-Vallée, emerging identity

Since 2019, Boivre-la-Vallée has been progressively building its common identity while preserving each former village's specifics. Lavausseau keeps its commercial centre, Montreuil-Bonnin its medieval castle (13th c., Historic Monument) and active school, Benassay and La Chapelle-Montreuil their rural character.

Extending the visit

Montreuil-Bonnin castle a must in season. Moulière forest trails, Poitiers (20 min) and Romanesque heritage, Futuroscope further north, Haut-Poitou vineyards — possible day extensions.

Morning arrival. Parking in the commune (precise location by edition). Cash, bag. Exhibitors: APE via school or town hall. Solidarity gesture at bar/catering — profits fund the school.
