The APE of Barjac organizes its flea market every May on the Avenue de la Résistance. The 31st edition brings together 130 exhibitors in this popular event in the Gévaudan region. Second-hand items, clothes, toys, and curiosities fill the main street of Barjac for a festive and friendly day of treasure hunting.
Every May, Barjac organizes its big Flea Market on the Avenue de la Résistance. The 31st edition of this event, now a classic of the Lozère spring calendar, brings together 130 exhibitors who fill the main street of the town.
Individuals and small dealers empty their attics and garages to offer an incredible diversity of items: clothes of all sizes, toys and games, books and magazines, crockery and tableware, tools and garden equipment, furniture and knick-knacks... With 130 exhibitors, there's truly something for every taste and budget.
The Association des Parents d'Élèves (APE) of Barjac has been organizing this flea market for over 30 years, demonstrating remarkable associative dynamism for a rural town in Lozère. The proceeds help finance extracurricular activities for the school children, outings, and sports and cultural equipment.
Barjac is a commune in Lozère, part of the Gévaudan community of communes, north of Mende. An authentic rural village, it features a Romanesque church and stone houses characteristic of the region. The Avenue de la Résistance, the village's central axis, transforms into a vast open-air treasure hunting space during the flea market.
