Antique Objects Flea Market on the Château Esplanade

Every year in April, the Château esplanade in Bar-le-Duc hosts a flea market specializing in antique objects. Dozens of professional exhibitors set up their stalls on rue François de Guise, offering furniture, art objects, curiosities, antique jewelry, and collector's items. The event takes place simultaneously with In Vino Visitas, a wine fair that brings together about thirty winemakers in various locations in the city.

Bar-le-Duc, a Renaissance jewel of the Meuse

The prefecture of the Meuse, Bar-le-Duc boasts one of the most beautiful Renaissance architectural ensembles in France. The upper town, where the Château esplanade is located, preserves remarkably well-preserved 15th and 16th-century private mansions. The Saint-Étienne church houses the famous Transi de René de Chalon, a macabre sculpture by Ligier Richier. The lower town, crossed by the Ornain river, complements this heritage with its quays and half-timbered houses.
