Car boot sale of the Fête de l'Océan — Stade municipal, Messas (45190), September, 185 exhibitors
Messas, a village in the Loiret located a few kilometers from Beaugency, celebrates its Fête de l'Océan every autumn, one of the most original popular events in the department. Over two days (Saturday and Sunday), the municipal stadium hosts a flea market and a car boot sale bringing together 185 exhibitors, accompanied by multiple activities.
The Ocean Festival flea market is one of the most important events in the Beaugency area. With 185 exhibitors set up at the municipal stadium, it attracts visitors from all over the Loiret and beyond. Booking is recommended at a rate of €9 for 5 meters in length.
The program for the two days is rich: the flea market and the car boot sale are the heart of the event, but they are accompanied by musical entertainment, a carousel, games, and festive meals. Musical meals are organized on Saturday and Sunday at noon, adding a gastronomic dimension to the festival. The event closes on Saturday at 6:30 PM and on Sunday at 6 PM.
The Fête de l'Océan is an old tradition in Messas. The original name — Fête de l'Océan in a village hundreds of kilometers from the sea — is one of the charms of this event. The festival perpetuates local festive traditions that have modernized while retaining their popular and friendly character.
Messas is a village of about 1,200 inhabitants located between the Loire and Beauce regions. Near Beaugency and its castle, it is easily accessible from Orléans and Blois. The Fête de l'Océan is its flagship event, known throughout the Loiret and attracting thousands of visitors each year.
