Brocante de Tavers — Village streets, Tavers (45190), October
Tavers, a village in the Loiret region located a few kilometers from Beaugency on the banks of the Loire, hosts its big annual flea market every autumn. Organized by the Independent Association of Parents of Students (AIPE) of the communal school, this event transforms the village streets into a colorful and lively second-hand market.
The originality of the Brocante de Tavers lies in its organizer: the parents' association of the communal school. The profits generated from stand fees are directly paid to the school to finance activities, educational materials, or cultural outings. Participating in the Brocante de Tavers as an exhibitor or visitor means directly contributing to the education of the village's children.
Exhibitors can set up from 6 am, with their belongings previously brought and deposited at their spot. The price is €2.50 per linear meter, with setup at the meeting point in front of the town hall. The event runs from 8 am to 6 pm with entertainment, drinks, and food available on site.
Tavers is a village of about 1,200 inhabitants located between Beaugency and Mer, in the Loire plain. Its preserved rural setting, old houses, and church bear witness to an ancient history. A short walk from the Loire, the village benefits from the charm of the Loire Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The flea market, with its stalls spread throughout the village streets, brings the village to life for a day, attracting visitors from all over the Beaugency area and beyond. The event has been held for at least 40 years, making it a true local institution.
