Creative market and flea market in the heart of Saint-Maixent-l'École, organized by the parents' association
Every year in May, the Parents' Association of Wilson school organizes an original event in Saint-Maixent-l'École: a market combining artisans, creators, and a private sellers' flea market. This event, held at the Allées vertes and Hall Denfert, attracts families and visitors in a warm and creative atmosphere, in the heart of this Deux-Sèvres sub-prefecture rich in remarkable architectural heritage.
The originality of this event lies in bringing together two complementary worlds. On one side, local artisans and creators showcase their works: handmade jewelry, ceramics, decorative objects, textiles, gourmet products, and original creations. On the other, private individuals display toys, clothing, books, dishes, and everyday objects. The rate is set at €3 per table, by prior reservation.
All proceeds from the day are donated to APE Wilson, which funds school trips, educational equipment, and projects for students throughout the year. By participating as an exhibitor or visitor, everyone directly contributes to improving children's daily life.
Sub-prefecture of Deux-Sèvres, Saint-Maixent-l'École is a character town built along the Sèvre Niortaise valley. Its Romanesque and Gothic abbey church, private mansions, medieval lanes, and renowned weekly market make it a prized destination in the Haut Val de Sèvre.
