Chénérailles is a town of character located in the heart of Creuse, between Aubusson and Gouzon. Its covered market hall, granite houses, and Romanesque church bear witness to an ancient commercial past. The town, a former cantonal capital, has maintained an active associative and commercial life, of which the antiques fair is one of its jewels. The name Chénérailles evokes the ancient presence of oak forests (chênaies) that once covered the surrounding hills.
