Summer flea market in the heart of the village of Sivry-Courtry in Seine-et-Marne
Every first Sunday of August, the village of Sivry-Courtry comes alive for its traditional flea market. Set up in the village center, this summer event is one of the favorite dates for locals and bargain hunters passing through Seine-et-Marne. From 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., the exhibitors, mostly individuals, unpack their treasures on the sidewalks and squares, offering visitors an eclectic range of items.
What makes the Sivry-Courtry flea market charming is its village scale. Far from large crowded events, there is a relaxed atmosphere where you can take your time talking with exhibitors, bargain without pressure, and find great deals among everyday items. Children's toys, clothes, dishes, books, small furniture, trinkets, tools, sporting goods and various curiosities make up the traditional offering of this unpretentious but charming flea market.
Sivry-Courtry is a rural municipality in Seine-et-Marne located in the Brie countryside, between Melun and Fontainebleau. Its traditional farms, church, and agricultural landscapes reflect the preserved rural identity of this corner of Brie. The village has maintained an active community life, and the annual flea market is one of the highlights of the local calendar.
Choosing the first Sunday of August makes it a particularly pleasant event for enjoying both bargain hunting and the beautiful season. On-site refreshments and catering allow visitors to take a gourmet break without leaving the venue: grills, fries, cold drinks and slices of homemade cake delight young and old alike. The atmosphere is that of the village festivals of yesteryear.
The Sivry-Courtry and central Brie area offers visitors many opportunities to extend their day: the castles of Vaux-le-Vicomte and Blandy-les-Tours are just a few minutes away, as are the Fontainebleau forest, the imperial Fontainebleau castle, and the medieval town of Provins.
The Sivry-Courtry flea market takes place on Sunday August 2, 2026 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the village center. Admission is free for visitors. Refreshments and catering on site.
