Major annual flea market in the historic centre of Marly-le-Roi
Held every last Sunday of June, the Vieux Marly Flea Market celebrates its 42nd edition in 2026. Run since its beginnings by the Société historique Le Vieux Marly, a local heritage association, it is part of a long tradition of promoting the town's historic centre. Staged in the beautiful setting of avenue Jean Béranger and the parc du Chenil, it attracts thousands of visitors each year from the Yvelines and wider Île-de-France region.
The fair takes place a stone's throw from the former royal domain of Marly-le-Roi, the favourite residence of Louis XIV, who built his famous Château de Marly here, now lost. Avenue Jean Béranger and the parc du Chenil form a green, historic backdrop where visitors can stroll comfortably between the stands. The old houses of Vieux Marly, the royal watering ponds and the nearby forest of Marly make up a unique setting that elevates the event far beyond a mere flea market.
The event welcomes a balanced mix of professional dealers and private sellers. Antique furniture, old tableware, decorative items, trinkets, books, postcards, old toys, costume jewellery, vintage clothing, household linen: the variety delights collectors and casual browsers alike. Some exhibitors have been loyal for over thirty years, while others come for the first time, ensuring fresh discoveries every year.
Run by dedicated volunteers, the Vieux Marly Flea Market is known for its warm, relaxed atmosphere. Families come in numbers, visitors take time to chat with the sellers, and share a coffee on the nearby terraces. Local restaurants stay open to welcome hungry bargain hunters. The event is held outdoors throughout the day and, in fine weather, draws considerable crowds.
An affluent Yvelines town, Marly-le-Roi retains remarkable heritage: the Saint-Vigor church, the royal watering ponds, the Domaine museum-promenade and the nearby state forest. The flea market is the perfect opportunity to discover this iconic French town, easily reached from Paris by the RER A via Saint-Germain-en-Laye or the L Transilien line from Saint-Lazare.
