Village festival and brocante at the Clain sources
Champagné-Saint-Hilaire is a rural commune of around 1,000 inhabitants in southern Vienne, midway between Poitiers and Civray. The village takes its identity from its three fountain-springs, local emblems feeding the Vaux stream before reaching the Clain. In tribute to this unique natural heritage the annual festival bears the name 3 Fountains Festival, combining brocante, animations and friendly atmosphere in late August.
The 3 Fountains Festival is both a brocante and a broader village festival. The brocante is the core — private sellers and some brocanteurs — accompanied by music, kids' activities, craft demos, country meal. This mixed format draws varied audiences, from serious browsers to families.
In the Clain Valleys, transition between Poitiers agglomeration (north) and Civraisien (south). Heritage: Saint-Hilaire church Romanesque origin, old Poitou farmhouses, and the three fountains. Near Vivonne (10 km), Gençay (15 km), Lusignan.
The three fountains are a rare natural heritage: springs gushing in or near the village, around which human activity developed for centuries. Celebrating them through the annual festival honours natural heritage, collective identity and link to the territory.
