22nd edition of the Great Saône Riverbank Flea Market in Villefranche, capital of Beaujolais
The 22nd Great Saône Riverbank Flea Market carries on a tradition firmly established in Villefranche-sur-Saône since its first edition in 2005. Each June, the banks of the Saône welcome hundreds of exhibitors who transform the riverbanks into a vast open-air bazaar. Private sellers and professional dealers offer an exceptional choice: antique furniture, vintage clothing, crockery, books, vinyl records, knick-knacks and decorative objects from every era. The relaxed riverside atmosphere makes this flea market much more than a simple market — a popular, convivial celebration drawing thousands of visitors each year.
Villefranche-sur-Saône is the prefecture of the Villefranche arrondissement in the Rhône department and the historic capital of the Beaujolais wine region. Nestled on the banks of the Saône between Lyon and Mâcon, this dynamic town of around 36,000 inhabitants is the economic and cultural heart of a wine region world-famous for its Beaujolais wines. The Saône, which borders the town to the west, is a cherished leisure and walking space that is magnificently brought to life once a year by this great popular flea market.
