The brand-new Vermandois flea market
In May 2026, Bouvincourt-en-Vermandois is organizing its very first flea market. This small village in eastern Somme, located in the historic Vermandois region, joins the long list of Picardy municipalities animating the spring calendar for bargain hunters. The event is listed among the réderies announced by Somme Tourisme for May 2026.
Far from large urban events, this first edition promises the atmosphere of an authentic village flea market: a few dozen exhibitors, mostly private individuals, displaying everyday items, tableware, clothes, childhood toys, old tools and various trinkets. It is precisely this type of event, on a human scale, that seasoned bargain hunters appreciate.
The Vermandois, an ancient medieval county whose capital was Saint-Quentin, extends across eastern Somme and northern Aisne. Bouvincourt, a village of about a hundred inhabitants, illustrates the rurality of this part of the department. Organizing a flea market in such a setting offers bargain hunters a refreshing break from the hustle of major urban réderies.
First editions always have a special charm: everything is to be invented. By supporting this event, bargain hunters contribute to establishing a new tradition in communal life.
Inquire with the Bouvincourt town hall before the day to find out registration terms. Bring cash, essential at this type of rural event.
