Malaucène, gateway to Mont Ventoux

At the foot of the northern slope of Mont Ventoux, Malaucène is a medieval town surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. Former summer residence of Pope Clement V, today a classic starting point for climbs to the Giant of Provence. Its terroir is part of Ventoux AOC and neighbouring appellations include Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Beaumes-de-Venise and Rasteau.

Two passions united

The concept is simple and irresistible: marry vinyl, the cult object back on top since twenty years, and wine, intangible heritage of Provence. Visitors stroll between record dealers and winegrowers, alternating browsing and tasting.

On the vinyl side

Total diversity: French and international rock, pop, variety, chanson, jazz, blues, soul, funk, classical, world music, soundtracks, electronica, punk, new wave, hip-hop, reggae, singles, LPs, picture discs, limited editions, maxis, bootlegs.

On the wine side

Winegrowers from Ventoux, Comtat Venaissin, Dentelles de Montmirail. Ventoux AOC, Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Beaumes-de-Venise, Côtes-du-Rhône Villages, Vaucluse country wines, Provence rosés. Some present olive oils, honeys, tapenades.

A full day

Plan a day: 9 am to 6 pm. Live DJ sets or concerts often punctuate the afternoon. The Salle du Blanchissage, a municipal cultural venue, hosts the event comfortably. Many visitors extend the trip to Gigondas or the Dentelles de Montmirail vineyards.
