Since its first edition, the Pop-Up Market has established itself in Lyon's musical landscape as the gathering point for vinyl lovers. Its 6th edition in April 2026 confirms this status and the growing enthusiasm for vinyl in the region.

A market for all music lovers

The Vinyl Pop-Up Market welcomes a diverse range of sellers: professional record dealers, private collectors, inheritors of fine collections, DJs refreshing their crates... Stands offer vinyl records across all genres: rock (classic, prog, punk, indie), jazz (bebop, hard bop, free, fusion), soul and funk, electronic music (house, techno, ambient), classical, French chanson, reggae, world music... You'll also find CDs, audio cassettes, VHS tapes and second-hand audio equipment: turntables, amplifiers, speakers, cartridges and more. Prices range from a few euros for an ordinary 7-inch to several hundred for a rare original pressing.

The great vinyl comeback

The Vinyl Pop-Up Market's success is part of the global vinyl revival. After nearly disappearing in the 1990s–2000s in the face of the CD and then streaming, the vinyl record has enjoyed a spectacular renaissance over the past decade. In France, vinyl sales have reached record levels not seen since the 1980s. This renewed interest spans all generations: people in their fifties and sixties rediscovering the records of their youth, but also millennials and Gen Z discovering the charm of analogue sound and the ritual, physical experience of placing a needle in a groove.

The Vinyl Pop-Up Market is held in Villeurbanne, a commune of over 150,000 inhabitants directly adjacent to Lyon, often considered its true inner suburb.
