In summer, Naussac-Fontanes organizes its village festival with a car boot sale. This popular and festive event takes advantage of the exceptional location of the town, on the edge of the lake of Naussac, to attract a large public of locals and holidaymakers.
The car boot sale, integrated into the village festival, brings a commercial and fun dimension to the celebration. Individuals from the town and neighboring villages offer their second-hand items in a festive atmosphere, possibly with music and catering alongside.
Lake of Naussac, jewel of the Margeride
The lake of Naussac is one of the largest water bodies in France, created in the 1970s by EDF on the Naussacoise river. This 1000-hectare body of water, nestled at an altitude of 1000 meters in the Margeride, has become in a few decades a major tourist site in the north of Lozère: supervised beaches, sailing, kayaking, fishing, camping, pedal boating...
In summer, thousands of holidaymakers frequent the shores of the lake, benefiting all the riverside towns including Naussac-Fontanes. The village festival with car boot sale captures some of this tourist flow to benefit local exhibitors.
Village Festival Car Boot Sale Naussac-Fontanes — edition 2026
The Naussac-Fontanes Village Festival, in Lozère (48), returns every summer with its traditional flea market. Organised by the Naussac-Fontanes Festival Committee, this village festival takes place over two days and offers, in addition to the flea market open to bargain hunters, a pétanque competition, meals (paella), a musical evening and a fireworks display launched from Lake Naussac to close the weekend.
The flea market is generally held on Sunday, in the village square. In 2025, the festival took place on July 26th and 27th (flea market on Sunday, July 27th). The exact date for the 2026 edition has not yet been published by the organiser; it traditionally takes place on the last weekend of July.
In the heart of the village of Naussac-Fontanes (48300), near the large Lake Naussac, the Festival Committee organises the Village Festival every summer, of which the flea market is one of the highlights. Exhibitors and bargain hunters gather in the village square for a day of bargain hunting and entertainment.
