Every late June, Place de la Pelouse hosts the Vieux-Saint-Maur Neighbourhood Committee flea market. In this preserved corner of Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, where history can be read in every façade, dozens of vendors offer their finds to a crowd of bargain hunters enjoying a fine summer day.
The Old Quarter's Flea Market
Vieux-Saint-Maur is one of the most historically rich neighbourhoods of Saint-Maur-des-Fossés. Its winding lanes, old houses and village atmosphere make it a stunning backdrop for an open-air flea market. Each late June, the neighbourhood committee takes over Place de la Pelouse to set up a warm, welcoming second-hand market open to all from 8 AM.
A Village Square Full of Discoveries
Place de la Pelouse, shaded and spacious, is the living heart of the neighbourhood. During the flea market, it becomes a maze of stalls filled with the treasures of everyday life: furniture, trinkets, clothing, toys, books, vinyl records and other curiosities. The vendors — mostly local private individuals — bring an authenticity that large professional fairs simply cannot match.
