120 exhibitors on Quai Charpenay, near Grenoble
Each autumn, the Quai Charpenay in La Tronche transforms into a long ribbon of stalls where around 120 exhibitors offer their finds to Grenoble bargain hunters. This car boot sale, organized by the town hall's animation service, is one of the anticipated events of the back-to-school season in the Grenoble urban area.
The Quai Charpenay runs along the Isère river and offers a particularly pleasant setting for bargain hunting. The walk along the quay allows visitors to stroll between the stalls while enjoying the view of the river and the surrounding mountains. The space is wide enough to comfortably accommodate the 120 exhibitors and the many visitors.
La Tronche is a residential town of 6,000 inhabitants located immediately north of Grenoble, on the right bank of the Isère. Known for housing the Grenoble University Hospital Center and the university campus, the town also has remarkable heritage with the Musée Hébert, housed in the house of the painter Ernest Hébert. The Quai Charpenay, lined with plane trees, is one of the most pleasant walking areas in the town.
Spaces are primarily reserved for residents of La Tronche, which ensures an authentic and local car boot sale. Individuals come to clear out attics, cellars, and closets to offer a variety of items at very accessible prices. To register or obtain information, contact the town hall's animation service.
