Car boot sale on the occasion of the Espagnac village festival in Corrèze
Every summer in August, the small village of Espagnac comes alive for a weekend for its traditional village festival. Saturday is dedicated to the Grand Prix d'Espagnac (cycling race), the village market, the famous 'jambon à la ficelle' served from 7 p.m., and the fireworks that beautifully conclude the evening. On Sunday, it's time for the flea market with a car boot sale that takes over the village square for the entire day.
The Sunday car boot sale is the highlight of the weekend for bargain hunters. Set up in the village square and adjacent streets, exhibitors offer their treasures and everyday items in a warm atmosphere. Entry is free, and catering is available on-site for lunch, allowing you to take a break between good deals.
The weekend is not just about the flea market: a walking tour is organized on Sunday morning, followed by a mini-football tournament in the afternoon. The Bandas MCBrass provide musical entertainment with their lively brass instruments. Free wooden games are available for adults and children, while artisans exhibit their creations. Country and folk music accompany the festivities, creating a unique atmosphere in this Corrèze village.
Located in the south of Corrèze, Espagnac is a typical rural village in Limousin, surrounded by meadows and chestnut forests. Its village festival is a moment of intergenerational sharing that perpetuates village traditions and attracts residents from neighboring towns for a weekend of authentic conviviality.
