Annual grand car boot sale in September in the Allées Cavalières district of Quetigny, one of the largest in Burgundy
The Vide-Greniers des Allées Cavalières de Quetigny is one of the most renowned flea market events in Burgundy. Organized every year in September by ADIPHAC (Association de Développement des Initiatives et des Projets des Habitants des Allées Cavalières), it brings together nearly 250 exhibitors over more than 1,800 meters of exhibition space on Rue René Cassin and the neighborhood's avenues. From 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., bargain hunters browse this vast open-air market, enlivened by music, entertainment, and friendly catering.
Every second Sunday in September, the Allées Cavalières district in Quetigny transforms into a huge open-air market. Organized by ADIPHAC (Association de Développement des Initiatives et des Projets des Habitants des Allées Cavalières), this car boot sale has become over the years one of the most important flea market gatherings in Burgundy, attracting thousands of visitors from across the region.
The car boot sale extends along Rue René Cassin and the adjacent avenues of the district, offering over 1,800 linear meters of exhibition space. Nearly 250 exhibitors present an exceptionally rich assortment: clothing for the whole family, toys, books, tableware, small furniture, decorative items, vinyl records, trinkets, tools, sports equipment, and curiosities of all kinds. The scale of the event guarantees that bargain hunters will find rare items and great deals.
Quetigny, a municipality of about 10,000 inhabitants in the Dijon metropolitan area, is known for its particularly dense network of associations. The Allées Cavalières district, developed in the 1970s-1980s, is a green residential area that hosts an active and supportive community. ADIPHAC, a neighborhood association founded to develop local initiatives, enlivens the social life of the area throughout the year, with the car boot sale being its highlight.
Beyond the bargain hunting, the Allées Cavalières car boot sale is a true neighborhood celebration. Music, entertainment for all ages, a refreshment stand, and food accompany visitors throughout the day. The festive and family-friendly atmosphere that prevails in the aisles makes it a cherished moment of sharing, extending well beyond the neighborhood's borders. Exhibitor registrations generally open in June.
The car boot sale takes place on Rue René Cassin and the avenues of the Allées Cavalières district in Quetigny, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free for visitors. Parking is available on the adjacent streets of the neighborhood. For exhibitors, registrations open in June on the ADIPHAC website.
