Annual car boot sale in the old bastide of Montgeard, in the heart of Lauragais
Every year in June, the village of Montgeard hosts a car boot sale that brings together bargain hunters in the heart of this old bastide in Lauragais. From 8 am to 6 pm, private sellers offer a wide range of second-hand items: clothing, toys, crockery, trinkets, books, and small furniture. The event takes place in the streets and on the village square, offering a picturesque setting for bargain hunters.
Montgeard is a commune of 555 inhabitants located in Lauragais, about 45 km south-east of Toulouse. A former bastide founded in the Middle Ages, the village retains its characteristic layout with its main street, the Rue de la Bastide, and its pink brick houses typical of Lauragais. Perched at an altitude of 280 meters on a hill overlooking the surrounding countryside, Montgeard offers beautiful panoramas of the Lauragais hills.
The Montgeard car boot sale is an opportunity to discover this village of character while browsing the stalls in search of treasures. The atmosphere is that of an authentic country car boot sale, far from the hustle and bustle of large urban flea markets. Visitors appreciate the calm and friendliness of this village event, in a setting of rolling hills and wheat fields typical of Lauragais.
Entry is free for visitors. The car boot sale is held from 8 am to 6 pm, offering a wide time frame to stroll between the stands. Parking is easy in and around the village. Montgeard is accessible from Toulouse via the N126 then the D625 via Nailloux.
From Toulouse, take the N126 towards Castres, exit at Nailloux then follow the D625 towards Montgeard (approx. 45 km, 40 minutes).
Free parking in the village.
