Annual car boot sale in the town centre for the patronal festival, organised by the festival committee
Every year, the festival committee of Vic-sur-Cère organises a car boot sale in the town centre for the patronal festival. This festive event combines the pleasure of treasure hunting with the atmosphere of a village festival, attracting residents from the commune and surrounding areas, as well as the many holidaymakers passing through this tourist resort in the Cantal.
Vic-sur-Cère is a charming commune in the Cère valley, renowned for its spa heritage and its exceptional natural setting at the foot of the Cantal mountains. The town, which has retained a picturesque historic centre with its old houses and narrow streets, offers a particularly pleasant setting for strolling among the stalls of the car boot sale.
A notable feature is that registration is free for exhibitors, which encourages the participation of a large number of private sellers. This free registration, combined with the summer tourist influx to Vic-sur-Cère, makes this car boot sale a popular event for treasure hunters in the Cantal.
Nestled at an altitude of 680 metres in the Cère valley, Vic-sur-Cère is surrounded by mountains, forests, and waterfalls, including the famous cascade du Pas de Cère. The car boot sale benefits from this magnificent natural setting, typical of the mid-mountain region of Cantal, making it an ideal outing to combine treasure hunting with the discovery of the Auvergne region's natural heritage.
