Car boot sale by the Vivre en Val de Durance association in Ventavon-Valenty, in September
The Vivre en Val de Durance association organizes a car boot sale every September in Ventavon, in the hamlet of Valenty. Around 60 exhibitors participate in this back-to-school event which marks the end of the car boot sale season in the Hautes-Alpes.
Ventavon is a rural commune in the Hautes-Alpes located in the Durance valley, between Gap and Sisteron. The village extends over several hamlets including Valenty, on the side of the departmental road. The landscape, between scrubland and orchards, testifies to the transition between the Alps and Provence.
Exhibitors offer a wide range of second-hand items: old tableware, trinkets, frames and mirrors, books and magazines, toys, clothing, small appliances, tools, sports equipment, household linen, and decorative objects. In September, exhibitors often offer holiday and summer items at bargain prices.
The Vivre en Val de Durance association enlivens the local life of this part of the Durance valley. By organizing this back-to-school car boot sale, it maintains social connection between the inhabitants of the different hamlets and villages in the area, while offering a friendly moment of treasure hunting in the open air.
