Annual car boot sale organized by the fête committee around the Thonac village hall
Each year, the Comité des Fêtes de Thonac organizes its car boot sale around the village hall and on the school esplanade. This event takes place over a weekend, with the first day around the village hall starting at 7 am and the second on the school esplanade. Exhibitors offer clothes, toys, crockery, trinkets, books, and various other items.
Thonac is a village in the Vézère Valley, located between Montignac-Lascaux and Le Bugue, in the heart of Périgord Noir. The commune is home to the remarkable Château de Losse, a Renaissance fortress overlooking the Vézère, classified as a historic monument. The village is on the prehistoric axis of the Vézère Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site, near Lascaux, Le Thot, and the many troglodyte sites in the region.
The Thonac car boot sale is part of a festive dynamic driven by the fête committee. The refreshment stands and food, run by volunteers, create a friendly and warm atmosphere. The natural setting of the Vézère Valley, with its cliffs, castles, and river, adds to the charm of this Sunday outing.
The car boot sale starts at 7 am around the village hall and continues all day. Exhibitor fee: €2 per meter. Free entry for visitors. Refreshments and food on-site.
