Mortagne-sur-Sèvre, fine medieval town

5,000-inhabitant commune, one of the finest in Haut-Bocage vendéen. Built on a rocky spur above the Sèvre Nantaise, remarkable medieval heritage: former Saint-Pierre collegiate church, castle remains, cobbled Grande-Rue, half-timbered houses. Crossed by Sèvre Nantaise, spectacular setting.
