Annual car boot sale on the Place du Marché of Le Molay-Littry, Bessin
Every first Sunday of July, the Place du Marché of Le Molay-Littry transforms into a vast open-air flea market. The association Les Amis du Disque organizes this annual car boot sale which brings together between 50 and 100 exhibitors, individuals and professionals, for a day of treasure hunting in the historic heart of this commune in Bessin.
Le Molay-Littry is a commune in Calvados located about twenty kilometers west of Bayeux, in Bessin. The town is particularly known for its Mining Museum, a testament to the coal mining that brought prosperity to the commune in the 18th and 19th centuries. The Place du Marché, in the heart of the village, offers a pleasant and spacious setting to host the summer car boot sale.
Unlike many car boot sales reserved for individuals, the one in Molay-Littry is open to individuals and professionals. This mix enriches the offerings: the everyday items and clothes from occasional sellers are complemented by more specialized finds from seasoned antique dealers. The fee of €3 per linear meter remains accessible to all.
The association Les Amis du Disque takes care of welcoming its exhibitors: setup possible from 6:30 am, dedicated parking for sellers, and coffee offered in the morning. A refreshment stand allows visitors and exhibitors to cool down throughout the day, which ends at 6 pm. Restrooms are available on site.
