Annual large car boot sale at the Quatre Chemins crossroads in Le Tronquay, organized by Éveil Sportif
Every last Sunday of July, the small village of Le Tronquay, nestled in the Bessin countryside, hosts one of the most popular car boot sales in the region. Organized by Éveil Sportif du Tronquay, this event will celebrate its 30th edition in 2026, a testament to the loyalty of treasure hunters and the quality of the organization.
The Quatre Chemins crossroads, on the Route du Bois, transforms for a day into a huge open-air market. Between 100 and 200 exhibitors, both individuals and professionals, set up their stalls from 6 am. From 7 am to 6 pm, visitors browse the aisles in search of furniture, crockery, toys, books, old tools, trinkets, and curiosities of all kinds. The exhibitor fee is set at 3.50 euros per linear meter.
Le Tronquay is a small rural commune in Calvados, located about ten kilometers south of Bayeux, in the Bessin countryside. This green area, between the D-Day beaches and the Cerisy forest, offers an ideal rural setting for a summer day of treasure hunting. The car boot sale is one of the highlights of local life, bringing together villagers and visitors from the surrounding area.
Éveil Sportif du Tronquay provides catering and drinks on site, allowing visitors and exhibitors to eat and drink throughout the day. The friendly and family atmosphere makes this sale a popular event for bargain hunters in Calvados.
