Annual car boot sale in the village of Ladinhac, a village in the Châtaigneraie cantalienne
Each year, the village of Ladinhac (15120) hosts its car boot sale on the sports field and around the village's multi-purpose hall. Sellers, mainly private individuals, offer a varied selection of second-hand items: trinkets, crockery, clothing, toys, books, and decorative objects. The event takes place during the day in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
Ladinhac is a rural commune in the Châtaigneraie cantalienne, located in the Goul valley, between Montsalvy and Aurillac. The village is set in a landscape of wooded hills and meadows, in the shade of the chestnut trees that have given their name to this territory in the south-west of Cantal. The Romanesque church and the stone houses in the village bear witness to the ancient origins of this village community.
The Comité des Fêtes de Ladinhac (Ladinhac Festival Committee) is the driving force behind local events. By organizing this annual car boot sale, it helps to keep this small Cantal village alive and to create links between the inhabitants, second-home owners who return in the summer, and hikers who explore the trails of the Châtaigneraie.
Ladinhac's location, in the Goul valley and close to Montsalvy, a former Cluniac priory classified among the 'petites cités de caractère' (small towns of character), gives the car boot sale a wider catchment area. Visitors often combine treasure hunting with discovering the heritage and natural riches of this little-known area of Cantal.
