The vide-grenier of the Foire de la Saint-Gourgon is one of the most anticipated events in the Perche vendômois. Prices: €2.50/linear meter outdoors, €5/linear meter indoors.
Every September, La Bazoche-Gouet hosts one of the most complete and lively rural festivals in the Perche vendômois: the Foire de la Saint-Gourgon. This multifaceted event, named after the local patron saint, combines a car boot sale, a flea market, a gathering of vintage cars and bicycles, an exhibition of industrial engines, and a funfair, in a program that attracts several hundred visitors each year.
The car boot sale aspect of the fair brings together about a hundred exhibitors, making it one of the largest second-hand markets in the area. Stalls are set up from 6 am in the streets and squares of La Bazoche-Gouet, offering furniture, crockery, books, toys, tools, clothing, and everyday items. Visitors can arrive early for the best finds, with the fair continuing until 7 pm for those who prefer a more relaxed stroll at the end of the day.
One of the distinctive features of the Foire de la Saint-Gourgon is its heritage and mechanical dimension. From 8 am, a gathering of vintage cars and bicycles takes place under the market hall, offering enthusiasts the chance to admire rare and restored vehicles. An exhibition of old industrial engines complements this heritage aspect, reflecting the organizers' and the public's attachment to rural technical and industrial history.
The Foire de la Saint-Gourgon also includes a funfair that sets up for the weekend and accompanying entertainment. Car painting, vintage vehicle displays, old bicycle demonstrations, and numerous fairground attractions make this event a true popular festival, bringing together all generations in the warm atmosphere of traditional rural fairs.
Registration for the car boot sale opens on July 1st. Prices are €2.50 per linear meter outdoors and €5 per linear meter indoors. Exhibitors are welcomed from 5 am for setup. Contact: Comité des fêtes de La Bazoche-Gouet.
