Car boot sale of the annual festival of Saint-Germain-les-Vergnes in Corrèze
Every last Sunday in June, the village of Saint-Germain-les-Vergnes comes alive for its annual festival, of which the car boot sale is one of the highlights. Stalls are set up in the village square and adjacent streets, offering a varied range of second-hand items: crockery, trinkets, clothes, toys, books, and small furniture attract bargain hunters from the Tulle and Brive areas.
The annual festival of Saint-Germain-les-Vergnes is not just about the car boot sale: the Festival Committee offers a program rich in entertainment. Children enjoy inflatable structures, street games, and rides, while adults can participate in the traditional pétanque competition. The street entertainment creates a joyful and relaxed atmosphere, conducive to reunions among neighbors and discoveries for passing visitors.
The refreshment stand and catering provided by the Festival Committee allow visitors to eat on-site throughout the day. Grills, fries, and drinks accompany this early summer day in a friendly and generous atmosphere, characteristic of Corrèze village festivals.
Located a few kilometers from Tulle, the prefecture of Corrèze, Saint-Germain-les-Vergnes is a rural village surrounded by wooded hills and green meadows. Its discreet heritage—parish church, granite houses, hiking trails—makes it a peaceful place to live where the annual festival is a moment of gathering and intergenerational sharing.
