Flea market and medieval market in the fortified town of Mennetou-sur-Cher
The Medieval Festival of Mennetou-sur-Cher, known as the Seigneurial Fair of the Wolves, includes a market and flea market in the alleys of this 13th-century fortified town. Artisans, merchants, and taverns take over the medieval town for a timeless weekend of celebration, at the foot of the ramparts and watchtowers.
The Seigneurial Fair of the Wolves, the medieval festival of Mennetou-sur-Cher, transforms this fortified town into a true medieval village every summer. Artisans, merchants, taverns, and entertainers take over the cobbled alleys at the foot of the 13th-century ramparts for a timeless weekend of celebration.
As part of these festivities, a flea market is set up within the town. You can find antique objects, curiosities, artisanal crafts, and decorative items in a medieval spirit. The exhibitors, mixed with artisans in period costume, create a unique atmosphere between a flea market and historical reenactment.
Mennetou-sur-Cher retains three circular towers, three fortified gates, and numerous half-timbered houses from the 14th-16th centuries. During the festival, entertainment, street shows, demonstrations of ancient crafts, and medieval banquets complete this immersion into the past. The Maison des Artisans (House of Artisans), a permanent space in the heart of the town, showcases the creations of 25 local artisans from the Val de Loire.
The Medieval Festival of Mennetou-sur-Cher returns in July 2026 with a flea market and market in the fortified town.
