Hunting at the edge of Lake Boulet
At the foot of Lake Boulet, in the Saint-Sardos leisure park, the Salle du Lac hosts a great full-day flea market and brocante every spring, from 8am to 6pm. Private sellers and dealers lay out in a unique nature setting in southern Tarn-et-Garonne, halfway between Toulouse and Montauban. Free admission, visitor parking, on-site catering with meal trays, fries and drinks: a friendly gathering for hunters seeking authenticity in the medieval sauveté founded in the 12th century.
Saint-Sardos, a small Bas-Quercy village founded in the 12th century by Sarlat monks, displays its rural quietude between hills and valleys, about thirty minutes from Montauban and Toulouse. A medieval sauveté whose name derives from Sacerdos canonised as early as 1122, the bourg keeps rich heritage: 14th-century church bell tower, Maison Lasserre, war memorial sculpted by an Antoine Bourdelle student, and one of the department's last twin-millstone windmills. But the commune also owes its renown to its leisure park around Lake Boulet, an 18-hectare body of water part of the Combe-Cave and Boulet ensemble.
It is the Salle du Lac, in the heart of the leisure park at Lake Boulet's edge, that hosts this great annual flea market and brocante. The mixed format combining private sellers and dealers offers a generous full-day programme from 8am to 6pm with free admission. Sellers lay out crockery, clothes, toys, books, trinkets, family brocante, small furniture, plus more targeted brocante pieces: antique glassware, faience, regional objects, vinyl records, postcards and old papers. The lakeside setting, shaded and restful, makes a pleasant change from concrete town markets: here you hunt while breathing pine fresh air.
The event boasts a precious asset: its sheltered hall, allowing sellers to lay out whatever the weather, complemented by outdoor spaces around the lake when conditions allow. Visitor parking is free and well-sized. The on-site catering, generous and quality (meal trays, fries, cold drinks), is a strong point that extends the visit. Toilets in the hall complete a practical, comfortable setup. During autumn editions, the organisation sometimes donates all proceeds to the Tarn-et-Garonne League Against Cancer, testimony to a strong charitable commitment.
Take advantage of your visit to discover the Saint-Sardos lakes circuit, a marked trail with a family game-trail around the Combe-Cave and Boulet ponds. The bourg itself deserves a stop for its church, Maison Lasserre and windmill. More broadly, you are in the heart of the Quercy blanc and Garonne plain: Verdun-sur-Garonne and its royal bastide 15 minutes away, Castelsarrasin 20 minutes, Beaumont-de-Lomagne 25 minutes, and the Tarn-Garonne confluence at Saint-Nicolas-de-la-Grave less than half an hour away.
For the absolutely singular lakeside setting in the brocante world, for the safety of a sheltered hall plus shaded outdoors, for the quality of on-site catering, for the warm welcome and charitable commitment of organisers, and for the opportunity to extend the day with a family walk around Lake Boulet: the Saint-Sardos flea market ticks all the boxes for a fine spring day of hunting in Tarn-et-Garonne.
The spring 2026 edition of the Saint-Sardos flea market and brocante was held on Sunday 29 March 2026 at the Salle du Lac, beside Lake Boulet, from 8am to 6pm. Private sellers and dealers laid out in the leisure park's lakeside setting, enjoying a spring day. Free admission, visitor parking, on-site catering with meal trays, fries and drinks: a tried format that delighted hunters and families from southern Tarn-et-Garonne.

The lakeside setting, bathed in spring sun, hosted a day under the sign of conviviality and accessible hunting.
The organisation renewed its appreciated formula: sheltered hall for sellers, well-sized free visitor parking, generous on-site catering (meal trays, fries, cold drinks), toilets in the hall. Hunters from Verdun-sur-Garonne, Castelsarrasin, Montauban and Toulouse appreciated the authenticity of the gathering, paired with the pleasure of a walk around the 18-hectare lake. Another edition is expected in autumn 2026, faithful to the commune's tradition.
