The 2025 edition of the Vide-Grenier d'Éguilles took over the village streets for a day of treasure hunting under the Provençal sun. From 8 am, some 150 exhibitors laid out their treasures along rue du Grand Logis and the adjacent alleys: clothing, tableware, toys, books, vinyl records, small furniture, and trinkets of all kinds. Visitors strolled between the stalls in search of a good deal, enjoying the refreshment stand offered by the organizers and the exceptional panorama of the Provençal countryside.
This annual car boot sale is part of the community life of Éguilles, a perched village of about 8,000 inhabitants perched at an altitude of 300 meters. Dominated by its 17th-century castle, a listed historic monument, the village offers a striking view from its belvedere of Montagne Sainte-Victoire, the Étoile mountain range, and the Étang de Berre. Bargain hunters could extend their visit with a stroll through the narrow streets of the old village, between old washhouses, vaulted passageways, and picturesque staircases, before discovering the Jardin d'Éguilles, an artist's garden labeled "Jardin remarquable" created by the sculptor Max Sauze.
