City centre boot sale in Albertville, Savoie
The Albertville City Centre Boot Sale is organised by the UCAA in the pedestrian streets of the historic centre. From 9am to 6pm, bargain hunters stroll among private sellers' stalls searching for clothing, toys, books, appliances and bric-a-brac. A unique opportunity to browse in the heart of the 1992 Olympic city, at the confluence of the Arly and Isère rivers, in a lively and friendly urban setting at the foot of the Savoyard mountains.
The Albertville City Centre Boot Sale is a major annual event organised by the UCAA (Albertville Commercial and Craft Union). The pedestrian streets and squares of the historic centre are transformed into a huge open-air flea market, attracting hundreds of private sellers and thousands of visitors from across Savoie and beyond.
From 9am to 6pm, the stalls are brimming with varied finds: clothing for the whole family, toys and children's games, second-hand books of all genres, appliances in good condition, ornaments and decorative objects, antique and modern crockery, sports equipment (skiing, hiking, cycling), vinyl records and CDs, small furniture and thousands of other everyday items.
Albertville, sub-prefecture of Savoie, is known worldwide for hosting the 1992 Winter Olympic Games. Located at the confluence of the Arly and Isère rivers, at the entrance to the great Alpine valleys (Tarentaise, Beaufortain), the city is a natural crossroads between Chambéry, Moûtiers and Megève.
Overlooking Albertville from its rocky spur, the medieval town of Conflans is a heritage gem not to be missed, with its cobbled streets, arcaded houses and exceptional panoramic views of Mont Blanc.
