On May 1st, 2025, the village of Pélissanne hosted its traditional annual car boot sale, bringing together locals and visitors in the picturesque streets of this medieval town in the Bouches-du-Rhône. Between the Pelican fountain, the village's emblem built in 1769, and the 18th-century belfry with its wrought iron bell tower, the stalls of individual sellers offered a wide variety of second-hand items.
Provençal tableware and ceramics, books and comics, clothing for the whole family, toys, decorative trinkets, and small furniture attracted bargain hunters from Salon-de-Provence, Aix-en-Provence, and surrounding towns. The May 1st public holiday favored a significant family turnout, with everyone taking advantage of this day off to stroll through the streets of Pélissanne and find good deals.
The exceptional setting of the village, crossed by the Canal de Craponne and the Touloubre river, offered visitors a remarkable heritage backdrop for this day of treasure hunting. The imposing Saint-Maurice church, with its Gothic bell tower and its historic monument-classified triptych, completed this authentic Provençal scenery. The Pélissanne car boot sale is eagerly awaited again on May 1st, 2026.
