On Sunday, April 27, 2025, the Vide-Grenier de Mouriès took over the Parc du Moulin Peyre, avenue Frédéric Mistral, in the heart of this Provençal commune nestled south of the Alpilles. Organized by the Amicale Réserve Communale Sécurité Civile, the event transformed the park into a vast second-hand market, attracting families and bargain hunters from all over the region.
From 7 AM to 5:30 PM, private sellers offered visitors a wide selection of second-hand items: clothing, Provençal tableware and ceramics, toys, books, small furniture, gardening tools, and trinkets of all kinds. Entry was free, and a food truck and refreshment stand allowed visitors to eat between finds.
Mouriès, France's leading olive-growing commune with its 80,000 centenary olive trees, offered its exceptional setting to flea market enthusiasts. The Parc du Moulin Peyre, home to the Maison de l'Olive et de l'Olivier, is an ideal backdrop for this popular event. Nearby, the oppidum of Caisses de Jean-Jean, an archaeological site classified as a Historical Monument, bears witness to human occupation of the site since the 8th century BC.
