Every Easter Monday, the town of Mensignac, located between Périgueux and Ribérac in the heart of the Périgord Blanc, organizes a car boot sale in the space behind the town hall, Place du Général-de-Gaulle. This spring event marks the beginning of the flea market season in Dordogne and attracts bargain hunters from the Isle valley.
The car boot sale is organized by the association La Cour de Récréation de Mensignac, which works to promote the social life and activities of the village. Exhibitor registration costs €2 per linear meter, an affordable rate that allows everyone to clear out their cellars and attics at a low cost.
With around a hundred pitches, the Mensignac car boot sale offers visitors a varied selection of second-hand items: clothing, toys, crockery, books, trinkets, tools, and small furniture. The village's countryside setting adds to the charm of this bargain hunting day. Exhibitors receive a free coffee upon arrival.
In addition to the flea market stalls, the car boot sale features motorcycle entertainment and on-site refreshment and catering services. Entry is free for visitors, who can use the nearby parking.
