The Fête du Vieux Val flea market is an iconic summer event in Val-d'Isère, held every July in the historic Coin quarter. Reserved for non-professional residents, it offers an authentic break in this world-famous ski resort.
The Coin quarter, the true historic heart of Val-d'Isère, is home to the oldest village houses with their stone-slab roofs, carved wooden balconies and traditional barns. At 1,850 metres altitude, exhibitors set up their stalls along cobbled lanes in a postcard-perfect setting.
With sixty to seventy exhibitors, the flea market offers an eclectic selection: ski and mountain gear, technical clothing, books, toys, kitchenware, chalet furniture and ornaments of all kinds. Val-d'Isère's character means high-quality outdoor equipment is regularly found at very attractive prices.
Take the opportunity to explore Val-d'Isère's heritage: the 11th-century Church of Saint-Bernard-de-Menthon, hiking trails towards the Col de l'Iseran — Europe's highest road — and the magnificent landscapes of the Vanoise National Park.
