Shopkeepers' clearance sale on August 15-16 in the heart of Pralognan-la-Vanoise
On August 15 and 16, 2026, Pralognan-la-Vanoise hosts its traditional Braderie des Commerçants. For two days, shops in this village resort nestled at 1,425 metres altitude at the end of the Bozel valley open their doors wide with reduced prices in a festive summer atmosphere.
Pralognan-la-Vanoise stands out from major resorts through its preserved authenticity. The village has kept its traditional chalets, flower-lined lanes and mountain hamlet feel. Shopkeepers set up their stalls offering hiking gear, technical clothing, mountain boots, artisan souvenirs and Savoyard local products.
The two-day format allows visitors to return and make the most of discounts on offer. Specialist sports shops offer significant clearance on previous season equipment. Delicatessens and cheese shops offer tastings of Beaufort d'alpage, Tomme de Savoie and other local specialities.
Nicknamed "little Chamonix", Pralognan-la-Vanoise is the premier starting point for exploring the Vanoise National Park, France's first national park created in 1963. Trails lead to mountain refuges and offer exceptional panoramas of the Grande Casse glaciers (3,855 m), the highest point in Savoie.
