Triaize: ~1,000 village in south Vendée at Marais Poitevin edge. Locally famous for its 'Fête de la Bouse' — a cheeky celebration of the cow, icon of Vendée countryside. 2026: Sunday 26 July. Combines flea, rural activities, food, festive atmosphere.

Run by Triaize's Foyer rural. A much-awaited rendezvous. The central game giving the festival its name: a cow on a gridded field, people bet on the square where she'll drop her 'contribution'. Humour, friendliness, bon-enfant spirit — a sharp contrast with conventional events.
